NASCAR great Jimmie Johnson’s in-laws found shot to death in Oklahoma

Police in Muskogee, Oklahoma, have confirmed that they are investigating the tragic shooting deaths of three relatives of Jimmie Johnson, the renowned NASCAR champion. The bodies of Jack Janway (69), Terry Janway (68), and their grandson Dalton Janway (11) were discovered at a residence in Muskogee. According to Lynn Hamlin, a spokesperson for the Muskogee police, it is believed that Terry Janway shot and killed her husband and grandson before taking her own life.

The authorities were alerted to the incident when a woman called 911 reporting a disturbance involving a firearm before abruptly hanging up. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found one individual near the front door of the house. Shortly thereafter, they heard a gunshot originating from inside the residence, leading them to discover the other two deceased individuals. Lynn Hamlin has confirmed that the victims were the parents and nephew of Chandra Janway, Jimmie Johnson’s wife.

Following this heartbreaking event, Legacy Motor Club, Johnson’s racing team, announced via Twitter that they would be withdrawing his No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet from the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago. The team further stated that the Johnson family has requested privacy during this time and will not be making any additional statements.
