At the end of a fantastic playoff game that De’Aaron Fox prepared for years, he had one more job to do. The crowd was counting down energetically as they celebrated their return to the playoffs and they were excited when Fox pressed the button to light up the beam, which meant 17 seasons of disappointment for Sacramento was finally over!

De’Aaron Fox said that Sacramento showed up big time tonight and thanked the fans for supporting the team even when things are really tough. Fox himself scored 38 points during a game against the Golden State Warriors, which tied him as the second highest playoff debut in NBA history and led to a win!

Fox had an amazing second half of the game. He was able to take his time and adjust to how physical the playoffs were, eventually hitting a 3-pointer that let the Sacramento team have the lead late in the fourth quarter.

This is Fox’s sixth season of making it to the playoffs, so he showed everyone why he has been around for so long! He scored more points than anyone else shotting their playoff debut – only Luka Doncic had managed 42 points against Dallas three years ago.

Coach Mike Brown said that it’s important to have players on the team who know what they are doing and can make plays. This was clear during the very exciting first playoff game between two cities in Northern California. The entire audience had been so excited for this event since 2006!

The Kings, who had no experience playing in a game like this, finished with a lot of strength against the Warriors team which won four championships over the last eight years. After Stephen Curry made a 3-pointer shooting from the corner to giveGolden State a small lead of 114-112 with about 4 minutes left, the Kings pushed back with seven consecutive points, beginning with a 3-pointer by Fox.

The Warriors fought back and almost won in the last minute when Curry scored a layup. However, Andrew Wiggins missed a corner 3-pointer at the very end that would have been the winning shot.

Wiggins said he felt good about his attempt and is confident that things will go even better for him from now on. He’s ready to compete and believes in himself!

Malik Monk scored two free throws in the last 2.9 seconds, which made it 126 – 123. Curry missed a shot at the buzzer so the Kings won their first playoff game since 2006 against San Antonio.

Curry said about the game that “it was really energetic from beginning to end”.

In the end, Monk got 32 points as an off-bench player and Domantas Sabonis earned 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Curry scored 30 points while Klay Thompson and Wiggins both got 18 points. There were a lot of happy people in Sacramento – they hadn’t seen the Kings in play-off action for 16 years! Fans came to the arena early, some even bringing cowbells from back when the Kings were very successful 20 years ago. It was so loud even before tipoff!

Harrison Barnes exclaimed that it felt incredible all night. People in the stadium got so loud as they watched players run out for layup lines and everyone got a tingly feeling. However, the Kings were not used to this kind of atmosphere and had trouble shooting the ball during the first half. By halftime, they only managed to hit 39.2% of their shots and trailed behind Golden State 61-55.

The Warriors had a 10 point lead in the third quarter, but Sacramento came back strong. Trey Lyles scored 10 points and helped them get the lead with 91-90 going into the fourth quarter.

Wiggins returned to play after being away from the team for more than two months because of a family problem. He did well and showed no signs of struggling even after so long away.

Wiggins began the game on the bench after playing in his first 657 games in the NBA and made an immediate impact. He tried to take a shot, but it was blocked, but he quickly recovered and blocked another shot from an opposing player.

The only thing Wiggins didn’t do well was shooting from outside as he got just 1 out of 8 shots from 3-point range.

The Warriors (from Golden State) have won some playoff games and series in the past under Steve Kerr but last season, they lost the opening game of their Finals and the series to Toronto.

Meanwhile, Sacramento starters failed to make a single 3-point attempt until Fox made one near the end of the third quarter.

On Monday night, the Warriors are playing Game 2 in Sacramento. This is the first time they’ve been down 0-2 in a playoff series since 2007 against Utah. For more information about NBA, you can visit https://bigbignews.net/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports.
