The fifth victim, found deceased in his home, was 31 years old. Meanwhile, the two injured boys, aged 2 and 13, are currently in stable condition, according to Commissioner Outlaw.

This devastating incident occurred shortly after a separate shooting at a holiday block party in Baltimore, approximately 100 miles away, which resulted in two fatalities and 28 injuries. The wounded individuals in that incident ranged from 13 to 32 years old, with a majority being minors.

Tragically, the Philadelphia shooting marks the 29th mass killing in the United States in 2023, the highest recorded by this point in the year, according to a database compiled by The Big Big News and USA Today in collaboration with Northeastern University.
