The dad of a Russian girl is in trouble after his daughter drew an art picture against war in school. He was taken from Belarus to Russia and if he goes to prison, it will be for two years.

Alexei Moskalyov ran away from his house arrest right before his court date last month in Yefremov, which is close to Moscow. Two days after running away, he was arrested in Belarus. When people went to visit him at the prison there on Wednesday, they were told that he had been sent back to Russia.

In 2022, 54-year old Mr. Moskalyov was charged for making posts about the war in Ukraine on social media platforms. He disagreed with these charges and said that he was innocent.

Many people around the world were upset when it was decided that Mr. Moskalyov must go to prison for two years and his 13-year old daughter, Maria Moskalyova, had to live in an orphanage.

The trouble for Moskalyov began after his daughter drew a picture at her school that showed missiles flying over an image of the Russian Flag. The picture also included words like “No to War” and “Glory to Ukraine.” After this, Moskalyov got fined and convicted because of some posts he made on social media.

The people in charge are getting mad and punishing anyone who speaks out against the war they created.
