Election denier and ‘MyPillow Guy’ Mike Lindell confirms he’s out of money, can’t pay legal bills

Legal representatives defending Mike Lindell against defamation lawsuits by voting machine companies are requesting court permission to withdraw from the cases. They cite that Lindell owes them an unspecified sum of millions of dollars, and he won’t be able to meet the mounting legal expenses.

Lindell acknowledged his financial troubles in an interview with The Big Big News, acknowledging the livelihood of his legal team. Attorney Andrew Parker, in documents filed in federal court, expressed that their firms can no longer afford to represent Lindell and MyPillow, as continuing to do so would jeopardize their financial stability.

This development is the latest in a series of legal and financial setbacks for Lindell, who has promoted unfounded claims that the 2020 election was rigged. Furthermore, several major retailers, including Walmart, have ceased selling his products.

Lindell stated, “MyPillow’s been decimated, and we’ve lost hundreds of millions of dollars.” He attributed these challenges to Dominion, Smartmatic, and various media outlets, including Fox News and Newsmax.

Despite these difficulties, Lindell is determined to persist in his endeavors and keep MyPillow operational. He affirmed that he has no other outstanding debts and no plans to file for bankruptcy for himself or his company.

In a video posted on his FrankSpeech website, Lindell portrayed himself as a victim of “cancel culture” and reiterated his commitment to securing elections in the United States.

Attorney Parker filed the requests to withdraw in federal courts in Minnesota and Washington, D.C., where Lindell faces defamation lawsuits from Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems, seeking over $1 billion in damages. Dominion previously reached an $800 million settlement with Fox News in a related case. Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, both Trump allies, are also defendants in the Dominion lawsuit.

Parker’s firm also requested permission to cease representing Lindell, MyPillow, and FrankSpeech in a defamation lawsuit filed in federal court in Colorado by Eric Coomer, a former director of product strategy and security for Dominion.

In July, Lindell acknowledged that his company was auctioning off equipment and subleasing manufacturing space due to retailers discontinuing MyPillow products. He claimed this was part of a shift towards direct sales.

Additionally, in April, Lindell was ordered by an arbitration panel to pay $5 million to a software engineer for breach of contract related to his claims of Chinese interference in the 2020 U.S. elections.

Parker noted that Lindell and MyPillow had consistently paid his firm on time through 2022. However, payments slowed down this year as legal fees and expenses surged. By May, payments were delayed by more than 60 days and didn’t cover the full bills. Lindell and MyPillow made no payments for the firm’s July and August bills.

Lindell and MyPillow are now seeking new legal representation as the legal battles continue. No trial dates have been scheduled for the Smartmatic or Dominion cases.

In his webcast, Lindell, renowned as the “MyPillow Guy,” urged viewers to support him by purchasing his products, including pillows and towels, as a means to overcome his financial challenges.
