Harvey Steinberg, the lawyer for Edwards, made a public statement last Thursday about how the Denver Police Department is wrong to charge Edwards after Game 5. He also said it was confusing why they decided to do this. When the game ended, Anthony moved a chair away from his path to leave the court. A video recording of this shows that he had no intention of hurting anyone and he is defending himself against these false claims. Videos people posted on social media from the game between Denver and their opponents Tuesday supports the claim that when Jamal Edwards missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer, he unintentionally bumped into some staff members. The area where fans sit is very close to the hallway which leads to the locker room. Denver Police spokeswoman Jay Casillas said that the injuries reported by the employees were not too bad. Edwards was charged with two misdemeanors for causing physical hurt to another person on purpose or being careless. He has to appear in court on June 9. Edwards did not show up at the end-of-season news conferences held at the team headquarters. General Manager Tim Connelly and Head Coach Chris Finch would not answer any questions about what happened. Earlier this season, 21-year-old Edwards was chosen to be a replacement for an injured player in the All-Star Game. Later this summer, there will be an opportunity for him to sign a big contract that could be worth around $200 million! RJ Edwards scored 158 points in the five playoff games against Denver, making him the fifth-highest scorer under age 22 in NBA history. There are other four players—LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Donovan Mitchell—who made even more points than RJ Edwards did, but they all played for more games. Even so, RJ Edwards was still not content with his performance on the court. Edward said after a basketball game, “I just have to do better. For example, I need to make shots faster and work on getting off the ball quickly.
