This Tuesday, there will be a special moment in U.S. history in New York City’s courthouse. Donald Trump, a former president of the United States, is going to appear at the court to answer criminal charges related to money he paid back in 2016 without telling anyone else about it.

He will likely not stay long as there will be some typical procedures like taking his fingerprints and pleading ‘not guilty’ – which he is expected to do anyway.

Donald Trump, who was earlier accused of wrong-doing by the United States House of Representatives but never punished for it by the Senate, is about to become the first president in US history to be charged with a crime. He will be taken from his residence at Trump Tower to the court with protection provided by the US Secret Service and he may also have his picture taken.

The police in New York City are preparing for protests by Trump supporters. They believe that the legal problems which the former President is facing (like a grand jury indictment and other investigations) are because of political reasons and to stop him from becoming the President again in 2024.

Trump, an ex TV star, has been raising lots of money lately by saying he’s being unfairly treated by the Manhattan district attorney. He’s asked his fans to protest and told everybody that the judge in charge of this case doesn’t like him, which is not true according to Trump’s own lawyer.

Donald Trump is planning to host a rally in his Florida house, Mar-a-Lago, on Tuesday evening. Even though he had to face a legal investigation, Trump wants to show people that he’s both determined and aggrieved. Even if convicted, it won’t stop him from running or winning the presidential election in 2024.

In a courtroom in Manhattan, the district attorney of New York, Alvin Bragg will reveal an official list of accusations against Donald Trump last week by a grand jury. The indictment includes breaking business records laws, which at least one of the charges is a major crime. Two people who were informed told Big Big News this before it was officially announced.

Trump is going to be released after his arraignment because the charges against him don’t require him to pay money (such as bail). The investigation is looking into two situations where Trump paid money. Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, a porn actor and a former Playboy model respectively, say they had romantic relationships with Trump before he was in politics. However, Trump has denied this and claims he did nothing wrong.

The court case is happening in New York and it’s connected to the events that happened two years ago when Donald Trump supporters tried to stop Joe Biden from becoming president. The police have no reason to think anyone will be violent, but they’re ready if anything bad happens.

Mayor Eric Adams said on Monday at a news conference, “Don’t disturb our city tomorrow – control yourselves.” Trump’s pollster John McLaughlin added that the ex-president will present himself with respect and strength. He stated that he plans to “win the election” with dignity.

Lots of people were paying attention to the case on Monday. Pictures of President Trump’s special car, a big red, white and blue airplane called a Boeing 757, showed up on TV. He flew from his Mar-a-Lago club to New York where he planned to stay at Trump Tower for the night before turning himself in the following day.

Trump and his aides have welcomed the attention from media after news of the indictment came out on Thursday. They plan to use the case for their benefit, but asked the judge to not allow videos or photos be taken at the arraignment. Prosecutors say no one is above the law, but having criminal charges against a former president can cause problems.

New York is trying to figure out how to make sure their courthouse proceedings stay calm and peaceful when dealing with an ex-president that is causing a lot of fuss. This could help Atlanta and Washington prosecutors if they ever find themselves needing to prosecute this same person because of things that happened which included trying to change the results of last year’s election and possibly mistreating classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

Many Republicans, including some people running against Trump in the Republican presidential election next year, have criticized the charges brought against him. On the other hand, President Joe Biden and other Democrats have not said much about it.

Nikki Haley, a former U.S. ambassador who is now running for president, was traveling near the U.S.-Mexico border on Monday and said that the news about President Trump’s indictment was taking away attention from other important topics such as immigration. But she also stated that a liberal prosecutor may be trying to just take revenge against the former president. Prosecutors however have said that their case has nothing to do with politics.

Tucker provided news from Washington. A group of journalists in the United States such as Will Weissert, Jill Colvin, Bobby Caina Calvan and Julie Walker wrote a report about it.
