Milwaukee BucksCaliforniaGolden State WarriorsSportsStephen Curry Curry and Warriors Stunning Comeback against NBA-best Bucks in OT by Chloe Baker March 12, 2023 written by Chloe Baker March 12, 2023 0 comments Bookmark 282 Stephen Curry showed off all his amazing shots we’ve come to know him for in the big moments – and then topped it off with a great block near the net. He got 36 points, 22 of which were during the fourth quarter and overtime, when he returned home for the first time after being away due to an injury. His performance helped the Warriors beat the unbeatable Bucks 125-116. Curry scored an equalizing 3-point shot with 19 seconds left in the game. Then, he stopped Holiday from scoring as he was driving towards the basket. Draymond Green said that “Curry came out of nowhere and blocked Holiday’s attempt.” The Warriors got the ball back with 1.9 seconds left and Curry passed it to Green. Unfortunately, Green missed the shot even though he was sure it would go in. Holiday scored 18 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and made 8 assists in 32.7 seconds for the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite Holiday’s great performance, the Bucks (48-19) lost the game since they didn’t have their superstar player Giannis Antetokounmpo with them. The loss ended their three-game winning streak since January 21 but Coach Steve Kerr was still proud of how his team fought and played during the whole game. With 1:08 left on the clock, Stephen Curry scored 3 points to help get the Golden State Warriors back in the game at 108-106. Klay Thompson then stole the ball and enabled Curry to score again, tying up the game. In the end, Holiday made a shot that gave them the win! Thompson chipped in with 22 points, Donte DiVincenzo had 20 points plus 10 rebounds and altogether they secured their 7th win at home and 11th out of 12 games overall. The Bucks’ coach Mike Budenholzer said he thought Curry was too hard to defend in overtime and fourth quarter. Curry really enjoyed making a change on the defensive side. He said “When I make a couple of good shots at the end and then manage to get myself in a situation where I can do something on defense, it makes everyone happy because it’s shocking. The reactions I got after that was louder than my shots tonight.” Khris Middleton scored 19 points and gave out five assists, Bobby Portis had 15 points plus 13 rebounds while Brook Lopez earned 19 points, seven rebounds and 5 blocks. The Bucks top scorer and rebounder, Antetokounmpo, was absent for the second match in a row due to right hand soreness and missed one earlier because of a non-COVID illness. After the break, Golden State got ahead by scoring 16 points more than the Bucks but Milwaukee quickly responded back to be only three points away from their rivals at half time. Midway through the third quarter, Green fell hard and limped to the locker room. It happened while he was running in the key; while both his left foot and Holiday’s right leg were tangled together, causing him to tripped over and rolled his ankle. Even though it was sore, Green said he will be ready to play on Monday against Phoenix. After the injury, he still had five points, 13 rebounds and nine assists compared to Golden State being successful when shooting outside (41.8%) than inside (40.4%). Stephen Curry returned to the Lakers on March 5th after getting hurt in his left leg on February 4th and missing 11 games. DiVincenzo has learned that any shot Curry takes is a chance for him to make it happen. He mentioned how fun it was to watch Curry shoot, saying “Sometimes when the ball leaves his hand I’m like, ‘No way!'” Klay’s gift of an amazing shooter is what makes watching him so special. Braulio Noriega, who was soon to be 16-years-old, got a special birthday surprise from Thompson. It was a custom-made basketball wheelchair. When Braulio was six years old, he had to get his left leg amputated above the knee due to cancer. Braulio dreams of playing wheelchair basketball in college and Mexico in the future. On seeing this surprise, Braulio could not express how overwhelmed he felt with emotion. In the first half, the Milwaukee Bucks only made 9 out of 25 shots from 3-point range while the Warriors made 10 of 24. Allen, who was on the Bucks team, missed his first five shots and he ended up making 2 out of 9 total. The Bucks also only managed to make 7 offensive rebounds while the Warriors got 18 of them. JaMychal Green from Golden State scored a total of 18 points with 3 three-pointers in the first quarter. Meanwhile, the team had 33 assists which makes it equal to the Denver Nuggets for having most assists in the entire NBA. Then, Moses Moody from Santa Cruz Warriors came and grabbed 4 rebounds within just 6 minutes while they held a 65-48 rebound lead against other teams. The Milwaukee Bucks will visit Sacramento very soon with its 13 consecutive wins so far. The Warriors will play against the Suns on Monday night. Unfortunately, they’ve lost the previous two games that were held at home. You can learn more about this by visiting NBA’s website or their Twitter page.
