Chasing Horse Sex Abuse Charges Upheld: Drug Crimes Dropped

A judge in Nevada recently decided to dismiss a drug-related charge against an actor who used to star in the movie “Dances With Wolves”. However, the same judge also agreed with a Las Vegas court’s decision to accuse this actor of 18 different crimes related to sexual abuse.

A judge in Clark County has ruled that the state prosecutors have presented enough proof to show that sexual assaults had taken place but no evidence was found linking Nathan Chasing Horse to some mushrooms they found while searching his house.

Chasing Horse, who is 46 years old, asked Kierny to drop all charges against him. He said his accusers wanted to have sex with him. One of the women was too young (under 16 years old) for it to be allowed in Nevada.

Kristy Holston, Chasing Horse’s public defender, said she couldn’t talk about the judge’s decision on this.

Chasing Horse is accused of some very serious crimes like hurting a kid, kidnapping someone, being inappropriate with somebody, selling drugs and more. He was put in jail on January 31st and the police caught him near his house where he lives with his five wives in North Las Vegas. To make sure he stays in prison they said he has to pay $300,000 first.

When Chasing Horse was arrested, it caused a big surprise and made three other places take legal action. These three places were Canada, the U.S District Court in Nevada, and the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.

Chasing Horse was born on Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, where the Sicangu Sioux tribe of Lakota nation live. He is best known for his role in Kevin Costner’s 1990 film ‘Smiles a lot’.

Police and prosecutors allege that after Chasing Horse starred in an Oscar-winning movie, he lied to tribes all over the country, telling them that he was a special man with healing talents who could speak to spirits. He is accused of using his fame to form a group called The Circle, which gave him access to young girls and women, some of whom he may have married while they were underage.

The bad things that were done were said to have happened in the early 2000s and took place in a few U.S. states, like Nevada, Montana, and South Dakota according to his court case.

One of the people who was hurt was 14 years old when Chasing Horse told her that their ancestors had ordered him to have sex with her.

Clark County prosecutor Stacy Kollins said in court Wednesday that the girl’s mom is sick, and the girl believes that her virginity is the only thing left that can make her mother better. On Friday, Kollins didn’t say anything regarding the judge’s decision. On May 1st, Chasing Horse will appear in court to stand trial for what he has been accused of doing; he says he did not do anything wrong and has asked for a trial within 60 days.

Next week, Chasing Horse will be back in court for a hearing. He and his lawyers are asking the judge to let him have separate trials because they believe that all of the accusations against him are not related.
