Academy Awards / OscarsEntertainmentMovies Celebrating Oscars Eve: See How Hollywood Stars Got Glam at the Annual Chanel Dinner by Chloe Baker March 12, 2023 written by Chloe Baker March 12, 2023 0 comments Bookmark 310 The night before the Oscar Awards, many famous people from Hollywood didn’t go to bed early. Instead, they stayed and had fun at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills for something called the Chanel and Charles Finch dinner. It’s actually harder to get into this dinner than it is to get a seat at the Oscars! The patio, which is a place where famous people such as Clark Gable and Darryl Zanuck used to eat, was filled with very important people in the entertainment industry. These talents were all wearing Chanel clothing, including Kristen Stewart, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman and Camila Morrone. When they were in front of photographers outside, Kidman and Stewart ran to one another to say hello while posing for pictures. Kidman said “It’s been so long”. After a few moments, Cotillard joined them. Later at the patio, Kidman had a conversation with Idris Elba and then hugged Ariana DeBose. Tessa Thompson asked Andrea Riseborough, who was nominated for best actress, if she was exhausted. There were also some Spider-Mans there – Andrew Garfield approached Tobey Maguire who was sipping on one of the restaurant’s special martinis. Maguire and Garfield hugged each other, then started talking to “The Whale” director Darren Aronofsky. Meanwhile, Jonathan Majors was having a conversation with Riz Ahmed, while Kerry Condon unsuccessfully tried to get a drink from the bar that had been shut in order to encourage guests to enter the dining room. Inside the dining room, everybody got a surprise because Beatrice Grannò from “The White Lotus” performed for them! At the event, a lot of people attended, including Michael B. Jordan, Danielle Deadwyler, Hugh Grant, Brie Larson and more. The star of “Daisy Jones & The Six”, Camila Morrone has been going to this event for a few years now and really enjoys it. Morrone said it was like a fancy pajama party. She found it amazing to see all the people in the entertainment industry being rewarded there, and all the creative and inspiring people admiring the award ceremony. Over the years she has won some special and luxurious prizes from Chanel at this event. Whitney Peak, who just became the new face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance, was excited to attend the event. She liked that there were big movie directors around and said they made really great movies this year! Whitney had so much admiration for them, especially Daniel Kwan since she liked his work in a Lil Jon music video. Chanel and movies have had a close relationship since the beginning of the fashion brand. In 1930, Samuel Goldwyn asked Gabrielle Chanel to go to Hollywood and dress stars like Gloria Swanson. After she returned back to Paris, Chanel worked with French filmmakers such as Jean Renoir and dressed famous actors like Jeanne Moreau and Romy Schneider. Recently, Chanel has been helping to make independent movies – like Leos Carax’s “Annette” and Mia Hansen-Løve’s “Bergman Island.” Even with Olivier Assayas’s movie, “The Clouds of Sils Maria”, Chanel gave money for a 35mm camera. For longer than 10 years, Chanel has supported giving new filmmakers chances and protecting old movies. Ava DuVernay, a filmmaker and part of the Academy’s Board of Governors, is all set to attend the Oscars on Sunday. She said that even though she was at the event last year, it was quite stressful and would like this year to be more chill. If you want to know more about the Oscars, follow the link below!
